Please can you add a demo / test company against which API calls can be made.
To the guest who mentioned max/min field length...
Download the full Swagger file for the GAC API v3.1 and use it as a reference for field lengths supported by each object’s properties. Search for maxLength, noting the: object and the property data type, maxLength, and description.
Hope this helps.
You are now insisting on payment details for free trials, which makes keeping on having to sign up for demo accounts problematic. Why not just offer this like every other API platform?
The test account could be crippled if you are worried about them ending up in live use, e.g. prevent VAT returns, bank account feed integration etc. It's very easy to screw up live data and tiresome to keep re-populating trials after 30 days.
Maybe not a test company - however a sandbox account would be good. Something you can sign up to as a developer and it resets every so often if needed.
Two problems addressed here:
1) Not having to keep signing up to new 30 day trials. (Doubles up as a saving for Sage sales team. They wont have to call me asking if I need help setting up my 'dummy' business)
2) Your not testing your apps / code on live accoutning data.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass this on to the team.
Also it can help test some fields requirements not explained in the API documentation like for example : max/min length (Contact reference field).
Xero and Quickbooks both have a sandbox that allows the API to be called from within the SDK makes their developement time quicker.
